Starting a Chapter

Your Phi Psi

What if you could build your own college experience? An experience that lived up to higher standards of excellence than what currently lies in front of you. Since the founding of Phi Kappa Psi, as a national Fraternity, many have experienced the prestigious rigors associated with building a new chapter. Each of them was a leader and innovator who sought something different rather than accepting what was in front of him.

Though Phi Psi has expanded rapidly in recent years, we're only on a small percentage of campuses (find out if your campus has a chapter with the Chapter Locator). Just because we're not on your campus doesn't mean you can't enjoy all of the benefits Phi Psi has to offer during your collegiate career and for the rest of your life.

Starting a new chapter is one of the hardest, most rewarding things you will ever do. While the process is different on every campus, you'll have to prove to your school that you're running an organization that furthers the mission of the university, and you'll have to show other students what a great chapter you can become in order to recruit new members. Local alumni can be of great assistance, but with undergraduate control in Phi Psi, the ball is squarely in your court.

We're always interested to hear from men of character who are interested in starting a new chapter of Phi Kappa Psi. Follow the steps below to get started

1. Take a look at our Expansion Packet

2. Email our Director of Expansion or call at 1-800-632-1852 or fill out an interest form and he will contact you to discuss the process of starting a chapter, the colonization process and how to become a chapter.

3. Contact your university’s Greek Life Coordinator for information on the prospect and opportunity for expansion at your campus.

4. If you are the only person interested, you must begin recruiting men of like minded principle to form an interest group.

5. A representative from Phi Kappa Psi will review your interest group and, pending the results of a review and the willingness of the campus to expand, the group will begin the colonization process.
