Reaction to Mexican Travel Restrictions
With the deadly targeting of U.S. citizens in the border states of Mexico, coupled with hundreds of Phi Kappa Psi students travelling to the American Leadership Academy, we have received some concern about the safety of our students during this spring break period.

Rest assured that our students travelling to Cabo San Lucas for spring break can do so without fear. The U.S. State Department issued a warning about travelling to portions of certain Mexican states after the violent outbursts by Mexican drug gangs in and around Juarez. This warning does not extend to the state of Baja California Sur, where Cabo is located on the tip of the peninsula.

Heavily Americanized, Cabo San Lucas is a safe destination and heavily isolated from the violence and drug influence creating problems on the mainland of Mexico and near the U.S. border.

Our students are reminded to be smart when travelling out of the country and to take extra precautions when venturing into the cities. However, the recent international developments should not deter undergraduates from attending the remaining sessions of the ALA.

If students, parents or concerned parties would like to discuss the situation further, they are welcome to contact Phi Kappa Psi at 1-800-486-1852 or the American Leadership Academy at 877-257-1458.
